Roads stimulus package continues with $1m upgrade of Regency Road

27 November 2015

Works on a $1 million road maintenance project to upgrade a key section of Regency Road are set to begin tomorrow.

The project involves upgrading a 1.5 kilometre stretch from Hampstead Road in Broadview to Main North Road in Sefton Park.

The road will be resurfaced using funds from the Critical road Maintenance program announced as part of the Government’s $110 million Budget roads stimulus package.

With almost 30,000 vehicles using this section of Regency Road on average every day this is one of the busiest arterial roads in Adelaide’s inner north.

The project is one of a number of works prioritised through the State Government’s record spending on road maintenance and safety.

Last week work began on a $600,000 upgrade on different sections of Marion and South roads and a $1.6 million spend has just been announced for more than 23 kilometres of highways and major roads in the Limestone Coast region.

The Regency Road works will begin on November 25 and should be completed by December 11, weather permitting.

The works will be carried out between 7pm and 6am, during which time traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction.
