Safety to be improved on various sections of Pt Wakefield Road

10 March 2017

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is undertaking a total of 6.4 kilometres of road surfacing works on various sections of Pt Wakefield Road commencing on Friday 24 March 2017.

The resealing works will extend the life of the roads as well as improving safety at the following locations:

  • Pt Wakefield Rd, 5km south of Lower Light (southbound), approx. 2.4km
  • Pt Wakefield Rd, 8km south of Dublin (southbound), approx. 1.2km
  • Pt Wakefield Rd, 2km south of Windsor (southbound), approx. 1.5km
  • Pt Wakefield Rd, 25km south of Pt Wakefield (southbound), approx. 1.3km

The work will be undertaken between 7.00 am and 5.30 pm, 7 days a week with expected completion by April 2017, weather permitting.

DPTI will make every effort to minimise the impact on road users during construction hours, with the road remaining open to traffic with minor lane restrictions in place while the works are being undertaken.

A 25 km/h speed restriction applies when workers are on site, with a maximum 80km/h speed restriction being in place until the reinstatement of the pavement marking is complete.

The $1,000,000 project is funded by the Australian Government’s SA National Network Maintenance Programme.

DPTI thanks motorists for their patience while these important safety works are carried out.
