Community Engagement and Decision Making

The department acknowledges that everyone is different, and that each citizen will make their own choices about how they want to relate to the public sector. With this in mind, the community engagement strategy that encompassed this project focussed on three key phases:
  1. discover (seek to understand) what the community perceptions are with regards to speed limits within the Adelaide Hills;
  2. engage with the community to enable them to work with us as partners to deliver safe, consistent and credible speed limits within the Adelaide Hills Council area; and
  3. provide feedback to the community on the outcome of the decision making process
The department continued to discover (seek to understand) and engaged with the community regarding speed limits within the Adelaide Hills Council area and held five workshops throughout the Adelaide Hills Council area to further discover why the community feels that speed limits are applied inconsistently across the Adelaide Hills Council area.
