5 December 2019
Motorists are advised that a new red light and speed camera has been activated today (Thursday, 5 December) at the intersection of Montague Road and Walkleys Road, Ingle Farm.
The intersection, which is located nearby Ingle Farm Primary School and Ingle Farm Shopping Centre, was identified as a high priority for the installation of a red light and speed camera and was reviewed as part of the 2018 Speed Camera Audit.
This camera is the second to be switched on as part of the State Government’s commitment to install 10 new red light and speed cameras at high-priority locations.
The selection criteria to identify these locations included analysis of crash history, traffic volumes, vehicle types, speed limits, road design, and the presence of vulnerable road users.
Seven of the 10 locations chosen are near schools.
The new cameras have been accompanied by new “red light and speed camera ahead” signs, which form part of the South Australian Government’s roll-out of larger signage to ensure greater awareness of fixed camera locations.
The Speed Camera Audit report is available at Speed Camera Audit
Further information about speed camera locations and the camera site selection process can be found at www.speedcameras.sa.gov.au
