As part of the Darlington Upgrade Project, night and weekend works will be undertaken in the lowered motorway and on South Road to install the final layer of asphalt and line marking.
These works, which are required to complete the Darlington Upgrade Project, will commence at 8pm Monday, 9 November and take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Varying temporary lane closures and traffic restrictions will be in place along the lowered motorway and South Road to allow the works to be undertaken, and are planned for the following times:
These work dates are weather dependent and could be rescheduled in the event of forecast rain. For updates on the works, including summaries and maps of the changed traffic arrangements in place for each of the above work hours, please visit www.dit.sa.gov.au/darlington
Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site. Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the areas.
To ensure the safety of all road users, speed and lane restrictions will remain in place outside of the hours of works.
Once the works are complete, speed restrictions will remain in place along the newly resurfaced section for approximately six weeks, to enable excess bitumen to be worn to a safe level prior to the posted speed limit being reinstated, weather permitting.
The final coat of line marking is expected to be undertaken in early 2021.
